Beware – Potential Virus Do Not Open !!!!?
There are a number of dodgy emails bypassing Spam folders and getting into ‘Inbox’. Most revolve around free tickets or tickets as prizes for the FIFA 2010 South Africa World Cup. You’ve been warned!

Thanks for the heads up. As a general rule, if you don’t recognise the sender of mail, don’t open it. Even if you have set up ‘rules’ for your email, the sneaky machines that generate it will find a way to compromise them. And as for owners of Mac’s, they’re not virus proof.
The World Cup will spawn all sorts of junk mail. it probably rates with the Nigerian scams as a chance to make a fast buck.
I agree fully with the post that advises you not to open any email that raises even the slightest doubt about the credibility of the sender. It does not matter how good your personal choice of AV might be there are still new threats coming in every day and it is possible for you to receive a “new” virus before you receive the update that recognises it.
I refer Joel C to the last sentence. There is no such thing as a virus proof computer. Time to get a real take, Joel.
Thanks for the info. I’ll pass it around the office.
Oh, and as for the person who claimed his Mac is virus proof:
a) There is now 1 virus “in the wild” just for the Mac
b) No-one else cares enough to write a virus for the Mac because they’re just that unpopular.
Lmao, i wouldnt respond to spam anyway, but thx for the warning!
Thanks for the warning
Thank you!
