My boss at work says he will buy a TV if he doesnt have to pay for cable. We just want to watch the football games so do you get free digital channels from the major networks from just turning your tv on?

    You still need an antenna.
Depending on where you work, an internal antenna maybe all you need. Check http://www.antennaweb.org.

No. You have to have SOMETHING plugged in to an input to get any programming, either a cable or satellite box into AV inputs or antenna jack, or an antenna or cable line into the antenna jack.
All new TVs have a ATSC tuner and should be able to pick up local stations (which usually include those networks) when a decent antenna is connected.
And the curvature of the screen surface has nothing to do with it.

    Yeah, what TV Guy said.
