Crooked Lettering With A Flat Screen Tv?
I recently bought a flat screen tv (24″). When we hooked it up to my cable tv digital box and turned it on the cable guide is crooked and when lettering scrools across the bottom is crooked. I swapped the tv out thinking it was that but the new tv a different brand did the same thing. I was wondering if it was digital vs HD 7 I need a HD digital box? Any ideas?
Can I Use A Flat Screen Monitor In Place Of A Tv?
My TV is about to die, and I am thinking it might just be worth my while to replace my TV with a 20 inch flat monitor. Just making sure it can be done.
The way I am thinking, a TV in addition to the screen has a receiver to get the channels and an amplifier/speakers for sound.
But if i get my TV stations through a cable box, and amplify my sound thru an audio receiver, wouldn’t it make sense that all I really need is the screen (the built in receiver and amplifier in a TV is superflous). In addition, I have the Miglia eye TV, compatible with my macbook, so I can get TV stations on my MacBook (it is an analog to digital converter)
I think it is a neat idea, and flat panel monitors cost less than flat screen TVs, plus I could use it for more stuff on my computer.
But before I go out and buy a 20+ in monitor, just want to check that it can be done.
Also is there a way to stream video (all video, including TV and DVD) wirelessly from my laptop to the monitor?

i am going to be mounting a flat panel tv to my wall. there is a power outlet at the bottom of the wall (which i can plug in cable box, dvd, etc.) but i want to add another outlet higher up on the wall behind the flatpanel tv. how do i go about taping off of the existing outlet? i am also going to add a bulk cable wall plate behind the tv and at the bottom of the wall (to run hdmi cables and stuff)

A friend of mine just purchased a condo with a bang and olufsen system already installed throughout the condo. In the living room there was a flat screen TV that was connected to a small cabinet off to the side of the TV. What made this cabinet special is that the Cable Box, The DVD player, etc all pluged directly into the cabinet and the cabinet itself ran a few cords to the TV. Does anyone know what these types of cabinets are called or where u can buy them?

Or I have a basic Comcast package left from the previous tenant? The TV is a Samsung LNT3242H, with a built in Tuner, the quality of picture is not so good though, do I need a cable box? Is there a way to improve the quality without subscribing to Comcast?
