Long Distance Relationship Vs. Work Friends?
I just moved to LA, where I have tons of new work friends asking me to go clubbing or drinking ALL the time. The thing is, I was never really a part of the club scene in college, and I’m also engaged to a wonderful man who lives in Boston, where we went to college together.
My friends know I’m in a long-term serious relationship, but NONE of them are in relationships as serious as mine, so I think they don’t really understand– in fact they mostly just have short hookups or date multiple people. I’m totally fine with their choices, but we’re all the same age (23-25) and I don’t want to look like the old lady. I admit that I never told my new buds I was engaged- it always seemed really out of place to tell them.
I don’t really enjoy drinking– it’s too expensive and I only really like to go to bars when my fiance is also there. I definitely don’t like clubbing, especially when I’m there and appear to be a single girl. I’d much rather go to coffee shops or art museums or performances, or stay in and cook or watch sports.
How do I turn down my friends’ invites to go out clubbing and drinking? It seems like their only mode of hanging out, ever. Most days after work I just want to go back to my apartment and talk to my fiance on Skype. But I see these friends at work ALL the time– they really are my only friends here, and I want to hang out with them without being a bummer on the party. I don’t want to be the girl that everyone thinks is boring or never gets invited to hang out… Heaven knows I’m already feeling lonely enough being long distance with my fiance. What should I do?
What Is The Best Model Of A Flat Lcd Tv.?
i want to buy my fiance a flat screen lcd tv for our bedroom and perhaps our livingroom. I was thinking a 32 inch for bedroom and a 50 to 55 inch for livingroom. But i dont know what the best brand is or model. I was thinking of going to circuit city, best buy or pc richards. I hear samsung. sony or sharp are good. do u have one you love or know which are the best.
What Are Your Thoughts About A Long Distance Relationship?
My fiance and I are in a Long distance Relationship. The past 20 months, we’ve only spent 11 days together. We have our share of laughter and tears, but amidst all of that we still find time out of our day (her morning, my evening) to talk to each other, give our “I love you’s and I miss you’s” to each other. If we averaged it, we have spoken at least an hour a day and have never missed.
We use YM, skype and direct Long Distance using our cellphones… Up to now we have not missed a day not hearing from each other, even just by SMS. We watch movies together (same DVD), play chess, read news and magazine articles, take surveys, send message to friends, chat with friends, play billiards and also tease and seduce each other.
We miss each other everyday and know that our next meeting will be sweet, passionate and exciting. We were college sweethearts, now apart and will eventually be married and spend the rest of our lives together. What are your thoughts? I am just but curious.
How Much Should I Give At College Graduation Party?
Here is my situation…
One of my best friend’s girl friend (pretty much fiance at this point) is graduating and I have no idea how much to give her. I have only hung out with her three times, because it is a long distance thing. I’m a college student, but I have had a job on the side for a while now.
I was thinking $25 and a decent card?
What Are The General Rules In A Long Distance Relationship?
I am engaged but right now i am in a long distance relationship (4 hour flight) (two different culture/countries; USA & SKorea). Just became long distance relationship when her visa expired this September. I trust my fiance but since I don’t know much of her old high school/college friends (I only visited Korea once), I get worried when she goes out with them to drink. Especially that the high school friends WERE her drinking buddies when they where young and getting drunk. I like to know what are the general rules for this situation. What are the “DONT’S” in this relationship? Can she still go out with them? Until what time can she go out? Who can she go out with? What are the things she & I CANNOT do anymore when we are engaged? What are the rules? Help me out. I don’t like to control her.
Have Any Of You Done Serious Long Distance Relationships (fiance/husband/wife) Due To College?
NOTE: I’m not talking about bf/gf relationships where you leave each other when you graduate highschool…I’m referring to this on more of a serious level.
I’m trying to get into Nursing school and it is HARD to get into it in NYC. So my other options were PA, NJ, CT, or anywhere within 3-4 hours of here. My idea is, I wouldn’t be able to see my soon-to-be husband from M-F since he will have work and I will be in school..but we would be able to spend weekends with each other. Things would be like this for about 18 months if I get into the RN program…only about 12 months if I get into an LPN program.
Have any of you been able to do something like this with your husband/wife?
College Long Distance Relationship. Help!?
My Fiance and I have been dating for two years. However this year he is going on an exchange program *only a state and 2 hrs away* in order to get a scholarship. Its only year but I am worried on how to make it work through this time. Please if you have any tips to make this work, they will surely be appreciated.
