Long Distance Relationship: Im In High School, He Is In College. Should I Let Him Move On?

ive been best friends with this guy for 5 years and he just recently admitted that he loves me and i love him too, but im a junior in high school and he is in his freshman year at college 7 hours away (we met online). he says im the only girl for him, but i feel im just holding him back from meeting other girls at his college because there are 20,000 kids and i know he could easily find a girl that is the same age, not 7 hours away, and not in high school. i wont even be able to really spend time with him for another 1 and a half years until i graduate. i dont know if i should just let him move on because i kind of feel like he has so many opportunities that im holding him back from, not just with relationships but with life too. im so in love with him but i really just want him to be happy and want the best for him, and i dont know if im holding him back from dating and a relationship that isnt composed of online chat and phone conversation. help? opinions? (

Any Successful Long Distance Relationships Stories During College?

I resently started seeing this guy (who was my friend for about 10 yrs) at the beginning of summer. However as summer ended I had to start my freshman year in college about a 1 1/2 hout plane ride away. Thankfully I get to come home and see him twice or at least once a month. Not toooo bad.
However, I feel like the long distance actually kind of helped us since it showed us how much we really care about and appreciate each other. We even seemed to get closer during these past 3 months while I was away.
So I was really hoping that some of you could tell me about any successful long distance relationships that you’ve gone through or seen. It’s just starting to really bring me down knowing that Im going to have to wait 4 yrs until I officially move back (or 2 yrs depending on if Im able to transfer to an even better University close by.)

What Are Your Thoughts On Long Distance Relationships Because Of College?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for nearly five months. He just graduated high school and I just finished my freshman year of college. I commute to a school 15 minutes away so I still live at home, which is why we have had the opportunity to date this year. Next year, my boyfriend is going to school at the University of Maryland, which is about a 5 hour train trip or a 6-7 hour drive. We plan on staying together, but who knows what can happen. My schedule will allow me to visit, but only about once a month. I’ve already experienced the long distance college relationship thing before, and it didn’t work well. I’d love to hear your stories on your own experiences, or others that you know of, that have either had good or bad long distance relationships because of college.
