Who Agrees With My Criteria For Classifying Who Is The Worlds Elite?
There has been much talk lately of whether certain teams are considered to be ‘in the Worlds Elite’, and this seems to be a quite vague category at the best of times. So I thought I would create a criteria for it, I’m not suggesting it will be correct and we should all use it, but I’m interested in what everyone thinks makes a team a world superpower in terms of football. So here’s mine:
1. Needs to have won the World Cup at least once since 1970 (roughly when football started being played anything close to a modern standard, thanks to the Brazil World Cup team in part).
2. Must have qualified to play in at least 10 World Cup competitions. (Including 2010).
3. Must have had a player(s) enter the Top 5 for FIFA WPOTY on at least five occasions since the award originated in 1991. (Not Ballon d’Or as that excludes players who play outside of Europe).
This would result in the Worlds Elite being:
Brazil
Italy
Germany
Argentina
France

‘England will be certainly knocked out of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa’ that’s according to FIFA .
‘It will probably be at the quarter final stages and the England third raters will be defeated on penalties, probably by Germany, Portugal or Argentina’ he continued.
In a swift rebuttal , FA Chief of something or other Sir Trev Brooking dismissed this claim.
‘I am sick and tired of FIFA casting aspersions on our national squad’ said Mr Brooking
He added ‘everyone knows we won’t even qualify in the first place.
How Comes: By Mention The Germans As “candidat” For Winning The Cup 2010 Makes So Many People Angry?

and nowadays they are not at all playing bad. During the qualification they scored after England the most goals and did very well agains Russia (Guus Hiddink) and we deserved to be qualified!

Did any1 else besides me want Poland 2 win the 2006 FIFA World Cup? I also wanted England OR Italy but i REALLY wanted Poland 2 win. They didnt even make it 2 the round of 16 because of their loss 2 Germany. Also, where is the world cup of 2010 gonna b in?
I Think What Australia Is Doing Is Unfair?
Australia didn’t bid for2010 world cup /2006 but now they want to host 2010 world cup,claiming that the host south africa will fail .On other side South africa lost their 2006 bid in controversial cicurmstances to Germany with one fifa member deciding not to vote for either Germany /S A.Recently won 2010 bid against other countries. SA was not just given by fifa but came with an outstanding bid which briliantlly met all fifa requirements .Worldcup is not just given to any country to host it but willing countries should present their bids then the winner host it.What is your opinion ?

Me and my best friend narrowed it down to Argentina vs. Spain.
He said that Argentina will win because the officials said so, and they said that Italy will win 2006, and they did. I personally think that Spain will win.
Also he said that Germany will beat Italy..I think Brazil will.
So now we’re betting $50.
Also, tomorrow, Real Madrid vs. Liverpool.
