Why Does My Flat Screen Tv Make Me Hot?

I have a 40 in Samsung 1080 HDTV Flat Screen. Ever since I bought this TV my bedroom has been so hot I can’t stand it. I have the A/C and fan on and the room is still hot. Anyone know anything I can do to lessen the heat coming from the TV. Can anyone tell me why it gives off so much heat
