My girlfriend always seems to help keep a cooler head than I, so whenever we uncovered out the battery was missing Id a bit of a freak out. She sat there patiently and waited for me to calm down, then we began talking about our alternatives. Sad to say it was not till we had built it to the trailhead that we identified the battery for being missing, but we received our cell phones out and commenced looking for the closest destination to get a new battery. It turned out that we could travel about ten miles down the road, select up a new battery in an area shopping center, and be again on the trail by lunch time.

So thats what we did. Within an hour we had a fresh EN-EL12 in my Nikon and were back again with the trailhead. The initial point we did was just take a picture of ourselves in the beginning in the path to remind us of the issues we needed to endure just to get that shot. Every time we took an image on that vacation it gave the impression of we appreciated it a little more due to our near fiasco.

Now when we sit down and take a look at the photographs from that trip, not only will we marvel at the clarity of them, but we also laugh about my forgetful second. If I learned something form that excursion, its to always remember by EN-EL12 yet again!
