5 Things to Consider Before Starting Your Own Business

Thinking of starting your own company? Have you ever felt like starting your own business? Do you want to be your own boss? Want to take charge of your own destiny and take control of your life Well, if you do, there is only thing who can make the difference between your new business being successful and being a failure – you!
Before you begin your new career running a business, consider the following questions. If you can answer the questions honestly, you should be in a good position to start up a business.
1. Are you starting a new business or running away from something?
Don’t expect running a business to solve too many issues for you. Starting your own business may not turn out to be a route to a magically fulfilling life. Don’t underestimate the amount of work that will be required to get any new venture up and running. For example, did you decide to set up a business while on holiday? Many people think about changing their lives while on holiday, especially when faced with coming back from vacation and getting back into their normal work routine. Be sure that you are considering starting a business for the right reasons. Television shows many programmes about people who quit their current job and upped sticks for a new like in a foreign country running their own business. To me, unless these people have already retired from work, they often seem to regret the move.
2. Be honest about the amount of effort involved
If you work in a company and things go badly or run late, you can always fall back on your colleagues or your boss to help. When you run your own business you will have to rely on yourself. This may mean working late at night and at weekends. If you work from home you may find it difficult to switch out of work mode if your office is just across the hallway. In the early days, while getting the business up and running, you may be working long hours and seeing little profit. Are you the kind of person who has the discipline and self-motivation to carry on?
3. Will you make a living from your business?
Most people will need to make a living from their business. Have you written a business plan and worked out exactly how much profit your chosen business will realistically make? Don’t start your assessment by thinking how much money you need to earn each month to pay the bills. If you do this you may end up “adjusting” profit figures to meet your needs.
Be honest about the likely profits. Do research. Get someone independent, in a similar business if possible, to talk through the likely costs and income. Work out your likely profit or losses in the months after you start your business. How long will it take you to make a living? How will you afford to live before the business is making a living wage?
4. Will you over commit yourself or your family?
When you start your own business it is likely you will end up working more hours than you did working for someone else. At the end of the day, the only person you can rely on to get the job done is you.
Consider the effect this will have on your partner or children. If you have very young children, will they understand why you can’t spend as much time with them? Will your partner understand?
Will you expect your partner, husband or wife, to help out when things get tough? Is this fair? Will they end up feeling pressured even when they have their own work commitments? Be honest with each other and discuss the possibilities before starting your business.
5. How many will you play?
If you work for a company, it’s likely – even though you may not think so – that you do only one job. When you work for yourself you will probably need to do many jobs. If you are setting up a one man business think: Who will do the marketing and advertising? Who will fulfil customer orders, e.g. by packing and posting goods? Who will deal with customer queries and complaints? All these roles require different skills. If you don’t have any experience in these areas, get training or advice and be prepared to learn quickly on the job.
Conclusion
I hope you find this list useful. The list isn’t meant to put you off starting your own business. Rather it is meant to help you make sure you are being honest with yourself about your expectations and the possible pitfalls in working for yourself. If you plan up front, running your own business can be a rewarding and satisfactory venture.

How Do I Mount A Flat Screen Tv With Wires Hidden?
There is a few ways this can be done. The best way is to hire a electrician to “wallfish” all the wires you need run in the wall. You can attempt to do this yourself but the risk of hitting electrical wires could be great, not to mention the looks of the hole in the wall you will create by probably not having all the correct tools to do the job correctly.
The cheapest way to do what you want is to buy a “wire chase” from Home Depot that either screws or sticks to your wall that can hide the wires inside of it. All you will see is one thing on your wall that goes from the TV to wherever you need it to go.
Of course you will need a wall bracket for your TV, most TV’s dont come with them but are usually sold to you by the salesperson that you bought the TV from. Then you might need a construction contractor or whatever to install it on wall studs, if that is the case they will ahve to open up the wall and you can put the wires in then.
You might be able to find a home theater installer in your area that can wallfish the correct wires for you but he/she might want to sell you their wires and charge you big $ for them.
The best bet is to contact a big name store like Best Buy or Tweeter etc and have them install it for you, usually they have a deal if you buy a TV or home theater system from them for free installation.
Either way good luck!

Do You Agree With Rory Fallon Not Wanting To Play Against Mexico?
Saying that “I see both points and I’m a professional who gets on with my job. If New Zealand desperately wants me in Los Angeles, I’ll be there. But there will be two or three international games during the pre-World Cup camp in Europe so Mexico is not the last game – I don’t see what the big deal is.”

Long Distance Relationship Advice…?
I’ve been in a relationship with my current girlfriend for almost three years. Granted, we get along very well most of the time and have had our rough spots.
For the past year she planned on moving to my area, so the length of our long distance was her senior year at college. She accepted a job in FL (I’m in NY) and is getting trained down there for 18 months. I could do that, 18 more months, but her program got redefined so that she will be down there for at least 3 years, if she is lucky. By the time she gets back, out of a 6 year relationship, more than four years would be long distance.
I feel bad breaking up with her when we’re so compatible, but the distance is almost impossible to fathom. Any recommendations?
