What Are The Pros And Cons Of Open Long Distance Relationships?

My boyfriend and I have been together for long time.
I’m going away to college and he can’t move with me and I can’t stay.
So those options are out.
We’ve had discussions about this and I suggest being friends and he’s suggests an open ldr. He’s not selling me the idea. In fact he’s doing the complete opposite (on top of the fact that I do not believe in LDR especially in OPEN ones).
What are the the pros and cons of an open long distance relationship?

Successful Long Distance Relationships?

I met someone while on a trip during vacation. I enjoyed his company very much, and even though I was only around him for about 2 days, we talk all day through text, and still manage to carry on multiple hours of phone conversation a few nights a week (without ever noticing how long we are on the phone till after).
He seems to see a future with me, and while I like him a ton, I’m not so sure about the whole long distance thing. I am completing my first college degree, and he is 1500 miles away and has a career, an apartment, and just bought some property and a house. If the relationship does progress to that level I would relocate there I suppose
Has anyone had experience with this type of LDR? What were the issues/benefits of it? Could it last? I’m not sure that I could pick up and move that far away from everything I know-for him-and not feel resentment or isolation of some sort. Suggestions?

How Do You Deal With Having A Long Distance Relationship?

I am specifically asking about my situation but I’d like to know how you deal with it. I know a similar question has been asked but mine’s a little different.
I have dated this guy for 4 years and a couple weeks now. We started dating as freshmen in college and now I’m in grad school in UT and he’s finishing his 5th year at our old place in OH. Needless to say, that’s really far away. My biggest problem is not being jealous when he goes and hangs out with friends until 2 or 3 am on the weekends.
So how do you guys cope with being really far away from someone you love and how do you cope with different social lives? We’re in our early twenties and plan on getting married at some point but for right now we’re looking at a LDR of about 5 years. Please don’t tell me it’s stupid and won’t work because I’m looking for encouragement and helpful ideas.
Thanks!

Opinion On Long Distance Relationships And Age? Please, As Many Answers As Possible.?

in your opinion, how can age affect a long distance relationship among college students. For instance, if two people are 18 years old, is the relationship doomed to fail, or if there is love, commitment, trust, and faithfulness, can it work out. I have been told that the younger you are, the more life you have left to experience, and therefore the less you know what you want out of life/love. What do you think about the first part i asked about LDR’s, and then about the 2nd part. Do you really think that college LDR’s can work out?

Should I Start A Long Distance Relationship Or Break It Off?

Me and my girlfriend have been dating for about a year. She is a senior in high school and I’m a college freshman. We really enjoy being together and we have had a great relationship overall. Now, Im’ about to go back to school for spring semester and I was wondering if I should continue and go back into a LDR with her or should I just break it off and experience college without my girlfriend?
Additional Info- During the fall semester our relationship was getting pretty rocky because of the distance between us.
