Young Military Marriage Following A Long Distance Relationship?
Hello! My boyfriend and I have been dating for well over three years. He is 18 and I am 19. For the last year we have been long distance (his family moved four states away, and I moved to college), however it has not been an issue for us keeping our love strong. At the end of this year, when he graduates high school, he is joining the air force. Both sets of our parents love him and I together and are okay with the idea of a young marriage, mainly because they know we are perfect for each other and make each other very happy. We have the thought of engagement and a wedding in our minds but have never said anything to make it one hundred percent.
My question is, in your opinion, should we get married now or wait till after his training.
I am almost finished with my associates degree, and plan on finishing my schooling where ever I move to with him (if that is the case). Either that, or I will finish my bachelors degree at the university I am at now and move with him afterwards.
What do you think would be a better situation?
Thank you so much for your advice, but please, not ridiculing.
Why Do People Engage In Long-distance Relationships? (military Excluded)?
(military excluded, because i know that deployment is out of your control)
I never understood the appeal of participating in a long-distance relationship.
If you and your high school sweetheart go off to different schools at graduation…it’s time to let that person go. Have a good college experience! Why constantly experience the anguish of being tied to someone, possibly hundred of miles away?
Or maybe you met someone over the internet.
Or your bf/gf moved, got transferred, whatever.
Or the myriad of other circumstances
How can you have a romantic relationship with someone who lives so far away, where you maybe only see each other every few months?
In my opinion, you’re cutting yourself off from other potential partners by clinging to that distant person.
When You Have A Long Distance Relationship Due To Military Duty. How Do You Make It Less Lonely?
my girlfriends a couple states away in the air force and i’m attending college in cali. she only gets leave occasionally and i cant afford to go see her constantly, plus i have to keep my attendance with classes. we’re fortunate enough to not have jealousy or controlling issues but what are some ways to keep things romantic and let her know im here for her despite the distance?
