Should I Try A Long Distance Relationship?

I met this amazing guy over spring break. The problem is that he is in Kentucky stationed for military training and I am in Virginia. To get to him is about a 7 hour drive and I am about to start college in South Carolina. But I really like him and Im not sure whether I should give the long distance relationship a shot. And if I should what is the best way to keep it going?
