De Klerk and Blatter share 2010 optimism
Following a meeting with FIFA President Sepp Blatter and General Secretary Jerome Valcke, former President of South Africa FW de Klerk expressed his optimism for the 2010 World Cup that is to be hosted in South Africa.
SA Good News “The 2010 World Cup is helping our socio-cultural development. I am very optimistic because everyone in South Africa wants the World Cup to be a success,” said De Klerk who was President of South Africa between 1989 and 1994 and who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Nelson Mandela in 1993.
Blatter was equally confident of South Africa’s ability to host the World Cup saying, “FIFA is absolutely convinced that the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will be a great success”
