If you're looking for the best one you can find, you sure as hell 'aint gonna find it at Walmart! Bestbuy has much better ones. Try to go for a Samsung or LG. One with a Contrast Ratio of 10,000 or higher. 720p, or 1080p, at this size, you won't be able to tell the difference, but if you want a crisper picture, 1080p it is. Don't fall for any of that 120/240Hz crap, it usually just makes you dizzy with all the extra frames. Just find one that doesn't ghost the image, or flicker too much.

Electronics have so many different specs and features these days it would be smarter for you to decide what you want the TV to do (games, HD shows, sounds, special features, etc.) and THEN start comparison shopping. I use Consumerreports.org but there are tons of other sites that can help you too. Also spend some time looking at customer comments on brands you are interested in on sites like Amazon to see if there are any common issues that you'd like to avoid. Going to the store to buy the TV should be the last step in a purchase like this and keep in mind just because Walmart is known for being cheaper, it doesn't mean they are better. Good luck!
