just got a flat screen un hooked cable line from old tv hooked it to new tv it sais no signal and nothing comes on anyone have any ideas

Go to the menu and find and do a new Channel Scan.
Check the rear of your set for more than 1 “F” connector. Some sets have 2 tuners and you have to have your cable connected to the right one. That’s the only reason I can think of at the moment.
